Paturi is a popular Bengali dish mainly prepared with fish, but here I am using chicken to make paturi, In this boneless chicken is wrapped in banana leaves and cooked.

Ingredients For Chicken Paturi Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Take boneless chicken, onion and 2 green chilles and make a paste in the blender.
  • 2. In a bowl, add chicken paste, mustard paste, poppy seed paste, grated coconut, salt, ginger garlic paste, lemon juice and mix well. Marinate this mixture for 30 minutes.
  • 3. Take banana leaves, wash them and lightly roast it to avoid cracking. Take the chicken mixture, put it in the middle of banana leaf, put 1 green chilli and little mustard oil over it and wrap it and prick with a tooth pick. Repeat the same process for the remaining chicken.
  • 4. In a pan brush mustard oil, put the chicken wrap and cover and cook in medium heat till banana leaves get brown in colour from both sides. Paturi is ready, serve with steamed rice.
