Recipe Notes

When u place the tikki in the pan make sure its very hot as we need a crispy crust. If the mixture is sticky increase the quantity of besan or coat it with semolina. For a good twist add sweet yoghurt on the top of onions and beetroot with mint leaves. Note:hara bhara kababs can also be prepared with left over palak paneer.

Methods
  • 1. Take a pan. Add oil and garlic and add the blanched spinach puree to it. Add amul paneer/amul cream along with grated carrots.
  • 2. Add red chilli powder, garam masala and salt to them. Let it cook for 5 minutes and then cool it. Keep it aside.
  • 3. Mash potato in a bowl and add 1 cup besan along with half cup rice flour to it. Add salt as per taste and grated ginger and mix well.
  • 4. Once the puree cools down add it to the potatoes and combine well.
  • 5. Heat a sauce pan with oil and shallow fry the tikkis for 15 minutes.
  • 6. Thinly slice onions and beetroot. Add salt/chaat masala to them. Keep them aside.
  • 7. Take hot dog buns. Slit them. Apply Dr. Oetker mayonnaise on one side and chings schewan chutney on other side. Now cut the tikki in two pieces and place the on the buns. Top it with onion and beetroot. Heat the sub in a grill or on a tawa with butter.
  • 8. Serve hot with ketchup.
