Ingredients For Kathal (Jackfruit) Biryani Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan, add kathal pieces and shallow fry till they turn golden.
  • 2. Remove from the pan and keep it aside.
  • 3. In same pan, add sliced onion and saute over medium flame till it changes colour.
  • 4. Add ginger garlic green chilli paste and saute till raw smell disappears.
  • 5. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and biryani masala.
  • 6. Cook for 2-3 minutes till ghee starts separating on sides.
  • 7. Lower the flame, add whisked yogurt and fried kathal pieces. Mix well.
  • 8. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add layer of boiled rice, coriander leaves and lemon juice.
  • 9. Cover it and cook for 7-10 minutes over low flame.
  • 10. Remove from the flame and keep it covered for 4-5 minutes before serving.
