Dough should be soft. Dal should be properly cooked but not over cooked.

Ingredients For Pooran Poli Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Take a mixing bowl add both the flour, salt and ghee . Mix it. Gradually add water and make soft smooth dough. Keep it aside.
  • 2. Boil the dal in pressure cooker. It should not be mashy or paste. Strain the dal.
  • 3. Heat ghee in a wok, add fennel seeds powder, nutmeg powder and cardamom powder. Saute for seconds. Add cooked dal and jaggery powder. Mix it well,
  • 4. Cook it on low heat until it becomes dry . Stir continuously.
  • 5. Transfer it in a plate. Let it cool. Smooth it with masher.
  • 6. Divide the dough into equal parts. Make small puri. Put the stuffing in centre. Bring the edges together , join it , and pack. Press gently.
  • 7. On rolling board, dust dry flour and roll it.
  • 8. Heat tawa. Grease it with ghee. Place the rolled roti on tawa.
  • 9. Apply ghee on both the sides. Roast and cook on medium flame till it becomes golden brown .
  • 10. Transfer it in plate. Apply some more ghee.
