Sweet Potato Halwa Tacos Recipe

Sweet Potato is a winter special vegetable which is very good for health. It can be consume by any ways like halwa, kheer or chaat. I have made halwa which is made from boiled, mashed sweet potatoes, milk, and flavored with cardamom and saffron. Sweet Potato Halwa recipe is a healthy, delicious, gluten free and vegan and is perfect during vrats/fasts, any other festive celebrations.

Ingredients For Sweet Potato Halwa Tacos Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Boil sweet potatoes in a pressure cooker. Once done, let them cool aside.
  • 2. Afterwards, peel and mash the sweet potatoes in a bowl and keep them aside.
  • 3. Take a small bowl and mix together the lukewarm milk and saffron strands to prepare saffron milk.
  • 4. Now, put a thick non-stick pan over medium flame and melt ghee in it.
  • 5. Once the ghee is melted, add mashed sweet potatoes in it and saute for 2-3 minutes till they are light brown in colour.
  • 6. Next, put milk in the pan along with cardamom powder, sugar and water.
  • 7. Stir continuously to and cook the sweet potatoes for about 7-8 minutes.
  • 8. Finally, add saffron milk in the pan along with chopped mixed dry fruits.
  • 9. Stir to mix well and cook for another 5 minutes while stirring continuously.
  • 10. Once the milk is absorbed completely, turn off the flame.
  • 11. For taco shell, knead a dough from maida, ghee, milk and sugar with adding water.
  • 12. Make lemon size balls , roll out like poori and deep fry in oil.
  • 13. Now arrange these pooris on the baking grill rack.
  • 14. Bake for 7 to 10 minutes until you see the taco are crispy and lightly browned.
  • 15. Put prepared sweet potato halwa in tacos, garnish with pistachios and saffron threads and serve.
