Recipe Notes

Roast all spices in slow flame. Add 1 tsp jaggery for extra taste.

Methods
  • 1. In a vessel add ash gourd pieces Salt haldi water to cover the pieces and allow to cook.
  • 2. In a separate pan roast coriander red chilli Chana dal urad dal methi.
  • 3. Roast till aroma comes in slow flame. Then remove to a mixi jar and add coconut to a same pan and dry roast for 5 minutes and transfer to mixi jar.
  • 4. Grind all to a coarse paste by adding little by little water.
  • 5. Check ash gourd pieces when half cooked add soaked tamarind water and add grinder masala paste .
  • 6. Add water to sambar consistency allow to boil till everything blend well and aroma comes.
  • 7. Finally do seasoning with mustard curry leaf and switch off flame.delicious sambar is ready.
