Banana Toffee Recipe

A Chinese dessert, the banana toffee is one to die for. Hard from outside and melt in mouth from inside, it is a delight to our gastronomical juices. Enjoy it as it is or pair it with vanilla ice-cream and you will say 'Yeh dil mange more."

Ingredients For Banana Toffee Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Dry roast sesame seeds till light brown. Heat oil for deep frying.
  • 2. Cut bananas into thick slices. Keep aside.
  • 3. For batter, mix cornflour, maida ,baking powder and oil.
  • 4. Add some water gradually to make a thick batter.
  • 5. Dip each banana slice into the batter, coat all over and deep fry in batches till golden and crisp.
  • 6. Take out and drain on paper towel and keep aside.
  • 7. Meanwhile, place a thick bottomed pan on low flame. Add sugar and 4 spoon water.
  • 8. Let it caramelize to light brown without stirring. Remove from flame.
  • 9. Now very quickly, drop one banana fritter at a time in hot caramel. Coat it all over with a spoon or fork.
  • 10. Take out immediately and drop into ice cold water so that caramel hardens.
  • 11. Remove from it immediately and drain on a wire rack. Sprinkle sesame seeds.
  • 12. Banana toffees are readyEnjoy as it is or with rich vanilla ice cream and some chocolate sauce dripped over it.
