Ingredients For Cheesy apricot ginger flan recipe

Methods
  • 1. Sift together flour and soda thrice, keep aside.
  • 2. Dust candied ginger with 1 tsp flour, keep aside.
  • 3. Line a rectangle baking tray(10)
  • 4. In a bowl combine together 200 gms milkmaid ,essence, salt, vinegar,oil,give a good mix.
  • 5. Add flour,fold in gently. Mix without lumps.
  • 6. Mix in candied ginger,mix well.
  • 7. Pour this to tray. Spread evenly .
  • 8. Bake at 175°C pre heated oven for 20 to 25 min. till toothpick pricked comes out clean.
  • 9. Let cool completely.
  • 10. Squeeze out juice from orange.
  • 11. Pour it allover the cake,once the cake is cool.
  • 12. Refrigerate the cake till further use.
  • 13. For the apricot filling,soak dry apricots in 1½ cup water for an hour.
  • 14. Soak agar agar in 1/3 cup water for 15 min.
  • 15. Puree the soaked apricots. Strain and discard reside.
  • 16. Reserve ¼ cup of puree to make apricot sauce.
  • 17. To the remaining puree add custard powder,mix without lumps.
  • 18. Keep this on med. heat stirring continuously .
  • 19. Also mix in soaked agar agar,mix well.
  • 20. Once mixture thickens & starts boiling, turn off flame. Let this cool for a while.
  • 21. Later transfer this to a blender jar,blend once.
  • 22. Add milkmaid, lemon extract & hung curd.Blend till everything is well mixed.
  • 23. Pour this over refrigerated soaked cake.
  • 24. Gently tap the tray to spread evenly.
  • 25. Refrigerate overnight or till set.
  • 26. To make apricot sauce, take reserved puree in a saucepan.
  • 27. Add turmeric, sugar & 1 tbs lemon.
  • 28. Stir this on med. heat till mixture becomes frothy & thick.
  • 29. Once cool, decorate your flan.
