Fatayer Recipe

This is a dish from middle Eastern cusine. Fatayar can be prepared with different fillings like, meat, cheese, spinach etc. I jave prepared veg version using soyabean and cheese. It tastes delicious. It requires some preparations but outcome is super yummy.

Ingredients For Fatayer Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Heat oil. Add chopped onion, ginger garlic and saute it till onions are translucent.
  • 2. Add salt and pepper also add chopped capsicum and saute.
  • 3. Now squeeze and drain the water from soya granules. Add it to a pan.
  • 4. Add red chilli powder, garam masala, turmeric powder. Cook it well.
  • 5. Once it is cooked, finish it off with chopped coriander leaves. Mix well.
  • 6. Take maida and add salt to it. Make well on centre and add yeast and sugar.
  • 7. Add warm water and mix well so that sugar dissolves and bubbles appears due to yeast. Knead a smooth dough.
  • 8. Knead the dough till it is smooth and stretchy. Apply little oil on it and again knead for 2 minutes.
  • 9. Keep it covered aside for half hour. It will be double in size.
  • 10. Spread on the surface in thick layer.
  • 11. Cut in small round shape using cookie cutter.
  • 12. Fill the soya stuffing inside and top it with generous amount of cheese. Seal the edges of fatayer in triangle shape.
  • 13. Give a milk wash. Sprinkle some sesame seeds on it.
  • 14. Now bake it for 30 minutes at 200 degree in preheated oven or deep fry it. I have baked it.
  • 15. Serve fatayer with ketchup.
