Soak the rice and dal for atleast 30 mins. Whisk the curd and besan well and check for the lumps.

Ingredients For Gujarati kadhi khichdi

Methods
  • 1. In a bowl take curd. Whisk it well
  • 2. Now add besan along with turmeric
  • 3. red chilli powder
  • 4. green chillies(chopped) and salt and whisk well. Add 2 cups of water and again whisk well
  • 5. In a vessel heat oil. Add garlic
  • 6. mustard and curry leaves to it. Once the splutters stop add the curd mix in it and simmer until it boils.
  • 7. Now we'll prepare the tadka. Take oil in a sauce pan. Add jeera and dried red chillies in the oil. Add this oil to the boiling curry
  • 8. For khicdi. In a pressure cooker add oil.
  • 9. Now add greem chillies
  • 10. hing turmeric and cumin to the oil. Add 3 cups water and allow it to boil. Add salt as required
  • 11. Now add the presoaked rice and dal. Let there be 3 whistles.
  • 12. Garnish with coriander and enjoy kadhi khicdi
