Masala Tofu Recipe

I have prepared this fresh panner from soy milk. I have added fresh chillies, coriander, chilli flakes, oregano and mixed herbs. Without cooking any recipes from tofu you can eat this masala tofu as it is with any dip.

Recipe Notes

If you don’t have panner maker you can set tofu in muslin cloth. You can add spices of your choice. If you want you can set the tofu in refrigerator also.

Ingredients For Masala Tofu Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Take soya beans in a large bowl. Add sufficient water and soak for 8-10 hours
  • 2. Drain the excess water and add sufficient warm water. Set aside for 30 minutes. Rub them in between your palms to remove the skin. Add 1½ cups water, the skin should be floating on top. Discard the skin and water.
  • 3. Transfer into a blender jar and add 500ml water, blend till smooth. Add 500ml water and blend again till well combined.
  • 4. Strain through 2-3 layers of muslin cloth into a large bowl. Squeeze to extract the soya milk.
  • 5. Meanwhile add water if required.
  • 6. Transfer the prepared milk into a pan and place it on heat. Let it come to a boil, reduce the heat and let it bring it to a boil.
  • 7. Remove the froth from the mixture while boiling.
  • 8. Lastly add all the ingredients salt, chillies, chilli flakes, oregano, mixed herbs and coriander leaves.
  • 9. Give it a good mix and turn off the flame.
  • 10. combine lemon juice and 2 tbsps water in a bowl, add this mixture into the pan while continuously mixing.
  • 11. Strain the prepared mixture using a muslin cloth and a strainer, squeeze the excess water.
  • 12. Now you can add mixture in panner maker bowl and cover the lid. Place heavy object on it and keep it aside and let it set on room temperature .
  • 13. When it becomes firm put it in the fridge for some time for setting.
  • 14. When it sets down cut it and serve.
