Ingredients For Rangili Idli Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Soak urad dal with fenugreek seeds and rice with poha separately with 2 cups of water overnight.
  • 2. Drain the water and grind the urad dal with little water to make a smooth batter.
  • 3. Similarly grind rice also
  • 4. Once done mix both the batters. Add salt and mix well.
  • 5. Cover and let the batter ferment for about 8 hours. After 8 hours the fermented batter will double in quantity.
  • 6. Divide the mixture in 4 equal parts . Add green, blue and red food colors .
  • 7. Mix well with different spoons for each batter. Keep one part as plain only.
  • 8. Grease the idli stand . Pre heat the idli cooker.
  • 9. In the idli mold add a spoonful of each color batter one by one. Then with the help of toothpick make a floral pattern
  • 10. Keep for steaming approximately 10-12 minutes. Unmould it once cooled down .
  • 11. Enjoy with coconut chutney and sambhar
