Recipe Notes

You can use 500 ml milk in place of condensed milk . Adjust the amount of sugar as per your taste. Add dry nuts as per your choice. Don’t cook the mixture on high heat.

Ingredients For RED VELVET FUDGE ( BEETROOT BARFI)

Methods
  • 1. Peel and wash beet root. Cut it into small pieces. Grind it to make paste.
  • 2. Heat 2-3 tbsp ghee in a heavy bottom wok. Add beet paste. Cook it for 3-4 minutes on low medium flame. Add milk powder in it , cook it for 2 minutes.
  • 3. Now add samolina , coconut, cardamom powder and sugar. Mix it well. Stir continuesly.
  • 4. When nice aroma comes out , add condensed milk in it . Stir continuesly.
  • 5. Cook it on low medium flame until mixture reduces and thickens to a fudge like consistency.
  • 6. Add 1 tbsp of ghee in it. Stir it .
  • 7. Turn off the flame. Transfer the mixture to a greased plate, spread it evenly, make a thick slab.
  • 8. Garnish it with cashew pieces. Let it cool.
  • 9. Once it is set , cut the barfi into medium sized squares.
