1. Soak the dal for atleast 5-6 hours.2. Grind coarsely so that you can feel it's texture.

Ingredients For Savoury Dal Gujiya Recipe

Methods
  • 1. In a pan, bring to boil soaked chana dal with salt and water. Drain excess water and grind coarsely.
  • 2. Heat oil in a pan. Crackle cumin seeds and then add asafoetida and garlic paste. Saute it.
  • 3. Add chana dal paste to it and mix well.
  • 4. Add amchur powder, red chilli powder and salt. Stir well and combine nicely. Transfer it to a bowl and keep aside.
  • 5. Knead wheat flour with water to make it a dough.
  • 6. Divide the dough into equal parts and roll into balls. Flatten the balls into small puris.
  • 7. Stuff the dal mixture filling in the centre. Seal the edges and form cresent shaped gujiyas.
  • 8. Heat oil in a deep bottom pan and deep fry the gujiyas till golden brown.
  • 9. Drain out excess oil and serve hot savoury dal gujiyas.
