Season end special - Malpua with a twist of Mango Recipe

Bidding farewell to the mango season while welcoming the monsoons, I thought of giving one of my favorite Indian desserts a not so ‘AAM’ twist. The monsoon season resonates the best with a hot cup of tea and some sweet or savory snack to go with it. Mangoes are an all- time favorite and righteously called the King of Fruits. We have all had our own share of mango ice cream, mango soufflé, mango pudding and so on and so forth. So this time I thought, why not combine my favorite dessert and my favorite fruit to whip up something completely new. Enjoy them with a hot cup of tea while watching the pearl like droplets from the sky

Ingredients For Season end special - Malpua with a twist of Mango Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Puree the mangoes and keep aside. In a bowl, sieve together all the dry ingredients. Pour the milk and mix into a batter form. Add the mango puree to it and mix gently. The batter should not be too runny. It should be thick yet flowy, similar to a pancake batter.
  • 2. Heat oil in a deep pan, and slowly start leaving the batter in small round balls into the boiling oil. Fry till brown on the outside.
  • 3. For the ones with an extra sweet tooth, you can also dip the malpuas in the sugar syrup while hot for a bit before serving.
