Recipe Notes

Keep in mind that the cooked vermicelli should be cooled down well after it is drained .Only then add curd to it.

Ingredients For Thayir Semiya (Curd Vermicelli) Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Take water in a big vessel and keep it to boil. Then add salt.
  • 2. Once it boils add the roasted vermicelli in it and let it boil.
  • 3. Once it gets cooked drain the vermicelli and let it cool down.
  • 4. Heat a pan and put oil in it and when hot add asafoetida powder.
  • 5. Then add dry red chilly broken into halves mustard seeds and chana dal.
  • 6. After it splutters add the chopped green chillies ,ginger, curry leaves and chopped onion.
  • 7. SautĂ© well for a few minutes till the onion turns slight brown. Then turn off the heat.
  • 8. Now pour this over the cooked vermicelli.
  • 9. Add curd , milk and water if required and bring to required consistency. Put salt and mix well.
  • 10. Then add pomegranate pearls and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  • 11. Serve chilled .
