Ingredients For Dhokla Recipe

Methods
  • 1. In a bowl.
  • 2. Add 2 cup gram flour, 1 tsp salt ,1 tsp baking powder, 2 tsp lemon juice and water in it.
  • 3. Mix it well using a whisker. Ensure that no lumps are formed.
  • 4. Leave it at rest for an hour.
  • 5. After an hour, put 1 tsp of baking powder, 1 tsp of eno and 1 tsp of lemon juice.
  • 6. Whisk a little. Not too much or the rise in the batter will settle down.
  • 7. Oil a cake tin and pour the batter into it.
  • 8. Place the cake tin a ready steamer for 15 minutes.
  • 9. Meanwhile prepare the tempering by heating 1 tsp refined oil in a pan.
  • 10. When the oil is hot enough, add 1 tsp mustard seeds, sliced open 4-5 green chillies and 1 tsp seasame seeds and 13-15 curry leaves.
  • 11. Add 1/2 cup water in the pan and let it settle.
  • 12. After 2-3 boils add 1 1/2 tsp of lemon juice and add 1 tsp powdered sugar.
  • 13. Check using a toothpick if dhokla is ready. Pierce it in the middle and if it is clean while taking it out then turn off the flame.
  • 14. Take out dhokla from the cake tin after 2 minutes and cut it into cubes.
  • 15. Pour the tempering on it and it is ready to serve after 5 minutes.
