Ingredients For Jowar flour Upma Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Mix well 3 cups of water to 1.5 cups of curd to make buttermilk. Keep it aside
  • 2. Take a kadai add 1 tablespoon oil, add Jowar flour and fry on a low flame for 5 to 6 minutes. You will get aroma of the flour.
  • 3. Transfer the flour to a plate. In the same kadai, add 3tbsp of oil. Add mustard, fry till it splutters, add jeera and hing.
  • 4. Add garlic green chilli paste, fry for a minute. Add chopped onions, fry till the onions become pink in colour.
  • 5. Add chopped tomatoes and fry till it becomes soft. Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder.
  • 6. Add buttermilk and bring to a boil. Add salt to taste.
  • 7. Add chopped coriander leaves and jowar flour. Mix well. Cook for 10 minutes stirring continuously.
  • 8. Use a hand blender for 2 minutes to avoid forming of lumps. Add 1 teaspoon ghee
  • 9. Cook for 15 minutes on a low flame stirring continuously. Jowar flour upma is ready to serve.
