Ingredients For Karjat batata vada Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Boil the potatoes and keep them aside. After they cool remove the skin and mash them properly.
  • 2. Add the other spices and mix well. Now for the tempering, in a tempering vessel take oil and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds to it.
  • 3. Once mustard seeds crackles add all the ingredients for tempering (Spicy green chillies finely chopped, grated ginger, grated garlic, Curry leaves chopped, Asafoetida powder, Turmeric powder, red chilli powder) to it. Now add this tempering to the mashed potatoes.
  • 4. Now add salt, chaat masala, sugar and lemon juice to the mixture. Mix well everything and make round balls from the mixture.
  • 5. Now make the batter for the outer coating. Mix all the ingredients (besan, water, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, baking powder and water as required) well and prepare it.
  • 6. Dip the round balls into the batter, coat each ball properly and deep fry them on medium flame. Serve the hot vadas with spicy garlic chutney.
