Ingredients For Semolina Upma Recipe

Methods
  • 1. firstly, dry roast 1 cup sooji on low flame for 2-3 minutes. keep aside to cool completely.
  • 2. Now in a large kadai heat 2 tbsp pure ghee and add 1 tsp mustard, 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds and few curry leaves.now saute till the mustard seeds, cumin Seeds splutter.
  • 3. Add onion, fry till golden brown colour and add chopped tomato, capsicum and saute well.Also saute 2 green chilli and 1 inch ginger.
  • 4. Now pour 3 cups water and get to boil.
  • 5. further add 1/2 tsp sugar,salt and mix well.keeping the flame on low start adding roasted sooji slowly, stirring continuously in another hand.This helps to prevent from any lumps formation.
  • 6. Now mix continuously till the Sooji absorbs water.cover and simmer on low flame for 5 minutes or till upma is cooked well.
  • 7. furthermore add 1/2 tsp lemon juice , 2 tbsp coriander leaves and roasted peanuts, namkeen. mix well.
  • 8. Finally, Serve semolina Upma hot with fresh coriander mint chutney or plain.
