Poppy Seeds Green Peas Curry is delicious Indian recipe served as a Curries. Poppy Seeds commonly known as khuskhus is a oilseed obtained from the Opium poppy which is widely used. Recipe Notes

If you time, you can soak poppy seeds in normal water for 2 to 3 hrs. Do not add water while making paste.

Ingredients For Poppy Seeds Curry with Green Peas ( Khus Khus Matar Curry )

Methods
  • 1. Soak khuskhus in enough hot water for 10 to 12 minutes. Drain excess water, transfer in a mixer grinder jar and make paste along with dessicated coconut using very little or no water and keep aside.
  • 2. Heat oil in a pan on medium flame and add onions, saute till it turns golden brown in colour. Add ginger garlic paste and cook for a minute. Add chopped tomatoes and cook for 2 to 3 minutes
  • 3. Then add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, dhania jeera powder, salt, mix and cook for a minute.
  • 4. Now add prepared khus khus paste. Mix well and water. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes and then add boiled green peas. Mix well. Cover and took for 6 to 8 minutes on medium flame stirring occasionally. Add garam masala. Mix and cook for a minute. Switch off the flame.
  • 5. Garnish with chopped fresh green coriander leaves and serve hot with roti and rice.
