Ingredients For Vegetable pulao recipe

Methods
  • 1. Rinse the rice with water multiple times till the water runs clear. Soak in ample amount of water for 60 minutes.
  • 2. Heat up ghee in a heavy bottom skillet over medium heat. Temper with cardamom, cloves, cinnamon,peppercorns and bay leaves. Add cashews and raisins and fry until light brown.Add the vegetables one by one stirring continuously.
  • 3. When the vegetables are still crunchy, add the rice. Before adding rice, drain off excess water. Sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add 2 cups of boiling water. Add sugar and salt. Cover with a tight lid and cook till water is fully absorbed and rice is cooked. This will take around 10-12 minutes.
  • 4. Now add the garam masala powder. Fluff the rice gently with a fork. Do not stir too much.
  • 5. Serve hot.
