You csn add 1 tsp water to the tempering if you want this will keep the dhoklas soft for a longer time. However its completely optional

Ingredients For White Dhokla / Rava Dhokla /Khatta Dhokla Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Mix curd, rava 1 tbsp oil, 1 pinch hing, salt and sugar. Add water as required to form idli batter consistency. Ferment overnight.
  • 2. Next day morning add grated ginger ang chopped green chillies to the fermented batter
  • 3. Heat a steamer for 10 minutes. Grease a cake tin or a dabba pour the dhokla batter add 1 tsp/ sachet eno fruit salt mix and pat once
  • 4. Place the cake tin in the steamer and let it steam for 30 minutes. Let it cool completely and demould.
  • 5. For the tempering heat 2 tbsp ground nut oil add mustard seeds, jeera, curry leaves and white sesame seeds. Let them crackle.Meanwhile sprinkle 1 pinch red chilli powder and 1 pinch blaclk pepper powder on the dhokla and pour the tempering over it.
  • 6. Cut the dhokla into diamond shape garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve
