Ingredients For Basaru Khichdi with Lotus Stem Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Pressure cook oats, toor dal, green moong dal, dilli leaves, for 4to5 whistles.
  • 2. Then smash it nicely. Then in another kadai add oil fry onions, tomatoes, dry red chilli, black peppercorns, dalchini, lavang , fry till light pink.
  • 3. Then when cool , grind into smooth paste , then add it to the cooked oats.
  • 4. In another kadai add oil fry mustard seeds, dry red chilli, curry leaves, ginger chilli paste , fry for sometime then add it to the cooked oats an mix well.
  • 5. Pressure cook carrots & beans then add it to the oats and mix well.
  • 6. Serve with stir fried lotus stem , by adding few masalas an the quaker oats tangy tomato masala to make the lotus stem tangy in taste.
