Radhaballabi or stuffed urad Daal poori is a very common appetizer of Bengal. This tastiest pooris best goes with dum aloo. Bengali people love to have it as Sunday special Breakfast.

Ingredients For Radhaballabi & Dum Aloo Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Make a paste of overnight soaked urad Dal with salt, green chilli & ginger paste.
  • 2. For Radhaballabi, make a dough of flour, a pinch of salt, 1tsp oil & required hot water.Cover it & keep aside.
  • 3. Heat 1 tsp oil & add the lentil mixture in it.Stir it constantly to avoid from burning.
  • 4. Dry roast a tsp of each cumin seeds, fennel seeds & dry red chilli. Make a powder of it & mix it to the lentil mixture.
  • 5. When it will start to leave the sides of the pan, switch off the flame.
  • 6. For dum aloo at first fry the boiled potato in enough oil. Then take out from oil.
  • 7. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan & add all whole spices.Let it crackle.
  • 8. Add onion ginger garlic paste & saute it for few minutes.
  • 9. Add peas,salt , sugar & all spices.
  • 10. After few minutes add fried potato pieces. Mix the potatoes in the spices.
  • 11. Add 2 cups of hot water, cover it & let it cook in medium flame.
  • 12. Make a mixture of 1tsp ghee, hing & water.Add it to the potato curry & cook it for more 2 to 3 minutes.
  • 13. Now for Radhaballabi, take small portion from dough, roll it & put some lentil mixture in it. Seal it from all sides.
  • 14. Again roll it carefully like poori.
  • 15. Heat enough oil & deep fry it.
  • 16. Tasty tasty Radhaballabi & Dum Aloo is ready to serve.
