Ingredients For Chana gravy masala Recipe

Methods
  • 1. first, in a large bowl take 1 cup chickpea and soak in enough water for 8 hours
  • 2. transfer the soaked chickpea to a pressure cooker add salt
  • 3. pressure cook for 4 to 5 whistles then simmer the flame for 15 min. or until the chana is cooked well.
  • 4. Now in kadai heat ghee and saute cardamom, bay leaf, cumin until spices turn aromatic.
  • 5. add onion, chilli, ginger garlic paste and saute until the onions turn golden brown.
  • 6. add in chole masala and ½ tsp salt. saute on low flame until the masala turn aromatic.
  • 7. now add tomato puree and mix well saute until the oil separates from the masala paste.
  • 8. now add in cooked chana and mix well adjust consistency as required
  • 9. cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until the flavours are well absorbed
  • 10. finally, add coriander and enjoy chana masala with roti, puri or hot steamed rice.
