Ingredients For Dal Makhani Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Soak the dal and rajma in water for atleast 8 hours.
  • 2. Now wash them thoroughly, and add in a pressure cooker, with soda, salt, bay leaf, big cardamom.
  • 3. Also add chopped ginger and 1 tb spoon chopped garlic.
  • 4. Add little water so that the dal sinks.
  • 5. Pressure cook till both dal and rajma becomes soft and really easy to mash.
  • 6. It may take around 5-10 whistles.
  • 7. Now take a deep pan, add ghee and butter.
  • 8. When they are hot, add remaining garlic and saute, now add onions and saute for 4 minutes so that they become translucent.
  • 9. Now add tomato puree and all the spices, cook until ghee leaves sides of the pan.
  • 10. Now add the pressure cooked dal, remove the bay leaf and big cardamom.
  • 11. Now let the dal stew for 20 minutes and add milk and cream and whisk.
  • 12. Cook for 5 minutes more and finely add kasuri methi.
  • 13. Serve with naan bread.
